Mindfulness and New Beginnings

The first week of classes is a wonderful time to think about the possibilities inherent in all new beginnings — from a new breath, to a new day, to a new year — and to a new opportunity to practice mindfulness. This session will explore the inherent invitation in mindfulness to begin again with every breath, in every moment.

Please RSVP here for the Zoom link.

Elizabeth J. Coleman has taught the eight-week MBSR class and mindful meditation in group settings and privately for over a decade. She has also designed and led many shorter programs for educational institutions, bar associations, law firms, nonprofits and others. She practiced law for over twenty years, specializing in law in the public interest, and has served as an executive at several organizations. Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Also, a graduate of an MFA program in writing, Elizabeth is the author of five collections of poetry and the editor of Here: Poems for the Planet (Copper Canyon Press, 2019). She is a committed classical guitarist and performs for patients and their families in hospital settings.

Elizabeth participated in the seven-day professional training program, modeled on the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorell. She completed the sixty-hour Practicum in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Professionals at the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine.
