Sharon Salzberg, who will be joining us virtually, is a meditation pioneer, world-renowned teacher, and New York Times bestselling author. She is among the first to bring mindfulness and lovingkindness meditation to mainstream American culture nearly 50 years ago, inspiring generations of meditation teachers and wellness influencers. Sharon is co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA, and the author of thirteen books, including the New York Times bestseller Real Happiness, now in its second edition, and her seminal work, Lovingkindness. She has recently published her first children’s book, Kind Karl. Published by Bala books. Kerrel Murray teaches and writes about constitutional law (with a particular interest in Reconstruction), election law, and race and the law, among other topics. His scholarship interrogates what democracy demands of our legal rules and institutions as well as the role of law in mediating conflict and disagreement. In 2023, he was named the Yale Law Journal’s Emerging Scholar of the Year.
