Dr. Addette Williams joined Columbia Health in 1999. Prior to Columbia, Addette completed a clinical psychology internship at North Central Bronx Hospital, and completed a graduate fellowship at the Psychological Counseling and Adult Development Center at The CUNY Graduate Center. She earned a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University and a Ph.D. from The City University of New York. She has received professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness with Emerging Adults at the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults (MIEA, formerly known as Koru Mindfulness), the integration of meditation in psychotherapy at The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy, the Gottman Method for couple therapy, and Brainspotting.

Addette has a broad range of professional interests that include the psychological effects of trauma, the mental health of people of color, the integration of psychodynamically informed therapy with mindfulness-based practices, and helping people be their most authentic selves.
