The Anxiety Lab: Working with Desires and Dreams

April 6, 2022
12:15 PM - 1:00 PM
Event time is displayed in your time zone.

In this session led by Sagar Bhatt, we will explore the relationship between anxiety and our dogged pursuit of future outcomes, whether in the form of love, accomplishments, or "happiness." The Anxiety Lab is an ongoing series that explores how the (often confusing) world of mindfulness can help with anxiety and possibly uncover deeper truths about the mind. Please RSVP here for the Zoom link.

Sagar Bhatt is a New York based comedian who has performed stand-up at clubs and festivals across the country, alongside appearances on Stand-up NBC and Last Comic Standing. In addition to numbing his anxiety by getting approval from strangers, Sagar has also explored it in depth from a mindfulness perspective. As a certified mindfulness teacher, Sagar loves sharing the insight and perspective he's gained.

On the suggestion of one community member, who mentioned the difficulty of finding a quiet room to Zoom into lunchtime events, for Wednesday's lunchtime event, we have reserved room 502 in JGH, from 12 to 1pm, for people to Zoom in on their laptops.

If you have questions about this event or upcoming events, or if any disability accommodations would help you to participate fully in these events, please contact the Coordinator of the CLS Mindfulness Program, Kiana Taghavi at [email protected]. Columbia University makes every effort to accommodate individuals with disabilities, so please let us know if any changes, for instance to the format of the sound system, would be helpful.
